Phillipa & Tyrone

The wedding of Philippa and Tyrone was one of those weddings that I was looking forward to the minute it was booked.  Philippa trusted us, and our design vision for her ceremony and reception, which enable us to style the celebration in a unique and glamorous way.

The ceremony was held on their private family estate which featured acres and acres of luscious manicured gardens.  Standing in front of a flag pole proudly displaying the Australian and South African flags symbolising the joining of two families, was a picture perfect garden ceremony in hues of white, green and gold.

Gold tiffany chairs were embellished with white satin sashes, cameo brooches and sprigs of greenery.  A luxury wedding arbour featured trailing greenery and pastel blooms from Stem Design, along with a white Chaise Lounge and coffee table for signing.

A string quartet played as guests arrived, and enjoyed the Spring afternoon sun, while being served cool drinks and delicious canapés.

The bridesmaids appeared, with pale blue dresses, blowing in the breeze.  The beautiful bride was then escorted by her father up the aisle, to her waiting beau.  A traditional ceremony followed and the crowd cheered as the were announced as the new Mr & Mrs.

Guests were then whisked away by private coach to The Abbey of the Roses, a unique event venue and hotel, that was once a convent and provided shelter for boarding students during WW2.  It  Is.  Amazing.

We didn’t want to detract from the historical beauty of the ballroom, with it’s heavy draping and decorative details, so we concentrated our décor to the tables and we decked them out!  Tablecloths were alternating white and gold sequins, with crystal candelabras, huge floral wreaths and golden candlesticks.  Tiffany chairs were clad embellished with white satin sashes and cameo chair bows.

Seeing Philippa’s face when she entered was priceless, and the reason we do what we do.  It’s such a thrill to make someone happy like this on their wedding day.

We also created a Groom Room for Tyrone, which was a cigar and whisky bar on the balcony.  This was a huge treat for guests as the night wore on.

Guests arrived to the venue and were suitably impressed inside and out.  The meals were divine, and matched by the exquisite service provided by the team at Abbey of the Roses.  The speeches were filled with humorous anecdotes and tales of childhood dreams.

It was a truly beautiful celebration of family and friends and we are so grateful we could be a part of it.

We wish Philippa and Tyrone all the happiness in the world as they embark on the next chapter of their lives together as husband and wife.
